Trip to Paul's, July 2004
Chandelier in Union Station, Los Angeles
Lots of scenery along the way.
King Street Station in Seattle at 01:30 in the morning.
Busy in the rare sunshine summer day.
Going down the steps.
Thomas and their redwood tree.
July 4, 2004, another of Dyanna's great breakfasts: scrambled eggs, turkey and pork bacon, avocado, mushrooms, bannana nut bread of oats flour, and coffee.
Pouring another sidewalk section over to woodshed, this is the same gasoline engine powered cement mixer that I used in Topanga Canyon for the bridge construction etc, circa 1970. Has a new engine now, however.
Gregory tries out my iBook computer while Thomas looks on.
The view out the window where my sleeping bag is, quite verdant.
Me on the latest sidewalk section, rain already.
Thomas and Paul on the driveway. Sometimes it needs a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get up there, needs to be made more usable by cars like mine.
Bryce, Thomas, Paul, Gregory, at top of driveway.
Everybody gets into the activity while the place for the next sidewalk pour is readied.
Thomas and Gregory check out the level of the forms for the sidewalk pour.
Some play use of the chute as a slide before the pours begin.
Thomas and Paul get concrete flowing from the mixer down the chute.
I and Thomas pose for the autophoto camera to click while we help distribute concrete in the forms.
Paul trowls the new sidewalk smooth.
A colorful 4 inch long slug casually wanders by.
After a trip to eastern Washington, evening highway.
I, Bryce, and Paul, with our reflection in truck's hood, after lunch together.
Gregory and Thomas do some vehicle maintenance together, like their dad does a lot.
A great stump left over from old growth logging in the area 60 years before; one such cedar stump rings count estimated 750 years old.
Returning on the Coast Starlight train, passing over a bridge in Sacramento area, where a more earthquake resistant bridge is being built.
Deeper into southern California, mountain clouds remind the desert someday there might be rain again.
