Float decorating in December 2005 for Glendale Rose Parade's float
Here is shown the white flower petal fragments applied to the train's "smoke rings" I did previous worksession, up on the scaffolding.
Looking down from there at the crew chiefs, as day is getting started.
Another of my self-photos, this one taken while up on scaffolding, the train's bell can be seen too.
Here is a view of the toy locomotive's piston and front wheel, before decorating on them.
I get assigned to decorate the "Operation Homefront" sign again this year, two of them to do this time. I start with applying seaweed to the lettering.
This shows how the letter "O" is carefully cut out of the sheet of seaweed and is now being glued down with white glue to the surface of the float sign. The letter "P" has already been done as shown in this photo.
Here is front of train being decorated, reminds me of "Thomas Train" charicature.
Here I wave for the camera, in front of the locomotive characture.
A view from next to the locomotive's cab.
Signs on camera side, including "Homefront" sign I did work on, seaweed lettering and some of petaling.
One of the others helps: photo of myself at float side.
Float smokestack is raised and Glendale float announced is finished, by PA system.
Glendale "Imagination Express" float after judging the next day.

Lots of pictures being taken as the place clears out, the floats ready now to roll out tomorrow morning into the parade. But rain in forecast, and the floats are not waterproof.
Back at my apartment, I hang my "white coat" up again for another year. The old familiar hermit lifestyle feels uneasy now, however.
